In 2003, Sony Pictures acquired the copyright of the novels Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code.
On 20 May 2006 started the pre-production, and 23 has been reconfirmed as screenwriter Akiva Goldsman and Brian Grazer, John Calley as producers. It was announced that Sony Pictures has paid $ 4,000,000 Goldsman for his screenplay.
