About From Cruise Ship Tour
The Standard Tour I provide in Rome is designed to cover the city major sites in one day. Additional off the beaten path tours can be arranged upon your request.
Pick up at the pier at 08,00 AM and There will be a card with your surname on the windscreen. We'll drive in a smooth motorway trough the country and see the Etruscan Landscapes with my Luxry Mercedes Mini Van. It will take approx. 80 minutes to get to Rome. The drive will continue along Ostiense Road and arrive at the Pyramid built for Caius Cestio.
At this stage of the tour we will be inside the ancient Roman Wall built by Emperor Aureliano (271 AD). This area it's considered Downtown in Rome.We will then arrive at the Circus Maximus, the large ancient stadium for chariot races. Behind the stadium you will see the Palatine Hill where the villas and the domus of the emperors were built. At this point you will be able to see the Arch of Constantine and the Colosseum.
We will stop here, and you will be able to visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum on your own if you wish. In order to avoid lengthy, and time consuming queues, I will obtain the entry tickets in advance as a complimentary service for my clients. (the Colosseum charges 12 Euros per ticket).
Following the Colosseum, we will stop at the Piazza Venezia where you will see the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, dedicated to the first king of Italy, (the wedding-cake of Rome). In 2 minutes will be at the Pantheon, the most untouched monument you can see today after 2000 yearsstill standing !!! The Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps will be the next stop, and please, let me tell you that the most famous Steps in the World are not Spanish but ... French !
After a light lunch made of pasta or pizza in a very nice tipical Roman Trattoria, you'll be ready to visit the Vatican Museum where you will admire the vast collection of masterpieces, including the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel. Admission to the Museum is 14 Euros per person. If you wish to have a tour guide in the Vatican Museum I can book one at a price of 60 Euros per hour. It will take two hours to visit the Museum, The Sistine Chapel and The Basilica. Believe me, the Guide it's optional of course but it's very recomended
Around at 5:00 pm we'll be ready to go back to the Port, exausted but happy .... or reimbursed !!!
A bottle of wine will be, before leaving you, my personal gift for your unforgettable tour in he Eternal City, and I promise ... no test ! Ah ah ah ah

| 10 | My family and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the day we spent with Marco in Rome. Since we were on a cruise, we had limited time. Marco made sure that we saw all of the highlights and coordinated a Vatican tour for us. We were not rushed at all. He picked us up at the ship as planned and we returned with plenty of time to spare. Marco is extremely knowledgeable and his charming personality made the tour even more enjoyable. We plan on returning for a land vacation and will definitely arrange tours with Marco and The Rome Connection again - in Rome as well as the other cities we are going to visit. I highly recommend The Rome Connection to all my friends and customers. | |

| 10 | Alison Wonderland July 5th, 2007, 11:49 PM My family (husband, 2 daughters, 14 & 11 and myself) spent a fabulous day with Marco Tavola from Rome Connection recently. He has a great sense of humor and is very personable but also very professional. Marco's English is excellent and he really knows Rome and its history. In addition to visiting all of the major sites on our Rome "wishlist", he added a couple of quick visits to fun places that we never would have known about. I really can't say enough great things about our day; it was the highlight of our trip. The website is www.romeconnection.com (http://www.romeconnection.com). Marco always responded to my emails promptly. When you check out the website, go to the Gallery page. We are the Parks Family on June 19, 2007.:) | |
