About From Cruise Ship Tour

The Standard Tour I provide in Rome is designed to cover the city major sites in one day. Additional off the beaten path tours can be arranged upon your request.

Pick up at the pier at 08,00 AM and There will be a card with your surname on the windscreen. We'll drive in a smooth motorway trough the country and see the Etruscan Landscapes with my Luxry Mercedes Mini Van. It will take approx. 80 minutes to get to Rome. The drive will continue along Ostiense Road and arrive at the Pyramid built for Caius Cestio.

At this stage of the tour we will be inside the ancient Roman Wall built by Emperor Aureliano (271 AD). This area it's considered Downtown in Rome.We will then arrive at the Circus Maximus, the large ancient stadium for chariot races. Behind the stadium you will see the Palatine Hill where the villas and the domus of the emperors were built. At this point you will be able to see the Arch of Constantine and the Colosseum.

We will stop here, and you will be able to visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum on your own if you wish. In order to avoid lengthy, and time consuming queues, I will obtain the entry tickets in advance as a complimentary service for my clients. (the Colosseum charges 12 Euros per ticket).

Following the Colosseum, we will stop at the Piazza Venezia where you will see the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, dedicated to the first king of Italy, (the wedding-cake of Rome). In 2 minutes will be at the Pantheon, the most untouched monument you can see today after 2000 yearsstill standing !!! The Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps will be the next stop, and please, let me tell you that the most famous Steps in the World are not Spanish but ... French !

After a light lunch made of pasta or pizza in a very nice tipical Roman Trattoria (pissa, pasta, gelato ...), you'll be ready to visit the Vatican Museum where you will admire the vast collection of masterpieces, including the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel. Admission to the Museum is 15 Euros per person. If you wish to skip the line .... you should better have a Private Guide in the Vatican Museum that I can book for you at a price of 150 Euros for 2 hours + 20 euros per person for the tickets. It will take two hours to visit the Museum, The Sistine Chapel and The Basilica. Believe me, the Guide it's optional of course but it's very recomended to avoid the very long lines of turists

Around at 5:00 pm we'll be ready to go back to the Port, exausted but happy .... or reimbursed !!!

A bottle of wine will be, before leaving you, my personal gift for your unforgettable tour in he Eternal City, and I promise ... no test ! Ah ah ah ah

Note Please Note
Please note that the Vatican museum is closed on Sundays. Upon exiting the museum, you will be in St Peter's Square from where you will be able to visit the inside of St. Peter's Basilica.
Our next destination will be the Pantheon, once the temple of all Roman gods, then a church and burial place for kings and artists (Raphael). Trevi Fountain will follow. Here you can toss a coin in the fountain to ensure a return visit to Italy. Finally, you can rest and have a seat on the Spanish Steps. Please note that the order in which we will visit the sites may vary pending traffic conditions or other third party act. The fees for the tours include tolls and parking, and are required in Euro funds. Kindly dress appropriately in order to be able to enter a church. Return aboard around 6:00 pm.

The tour can be altered to personalize your desires. Additional costs for entry tickets and lunch are not included in the tour fee.

10 Marco, we just got home from our trip. We will definitely give you a wonderful review. My wife (the curling iron miss) and my daughter say they are going to write it. Thanks for a wonderful day in Rome. It was great. Francesco was absolutely fantastic in Florence. Tuscany and the lunch and wine tasting---well, we are still talking about it. We will go back and will contact you to arrange a longer wine related adventure. Thanks for making our trip a memorable one. Todd

10 Hi Marco, Now that we are back sleeping in our own beds, we just wanted to thank you again for seting up such a wonderful tour for our group on May 1st. Rest assured we will tell everyone we know that is contemplating a visit to Rome to contact you. When asked what was her highlight of our trip, Diana uses this line spoken by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Roman Holiday - "Rome, by all means Rome". Thanks again for making Rome our highlight. Regards, Bruce Reed

10 In February we took a cruise and had a day each to spend in Rome and Greece. We nervously searched the internet hoping to find a tour guide so that we could do our own private tour. We found Rome Connection and Marco! We emailed several people that had posted comments on his sight and found nothing but extremely favorable comments - so we booked two tours with Marco one in Rome and one in Greece that Marco set up for us. No hassles we just showed up and it was terrific. There were 6 adults and one two year old traveling in our group. We could not have been more pleased. Marco was there waiting before we got off the ship with his umbrella standing in the rain. The Mercedes van we drove in was very nice and very clean. Marco was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He showed us a fantastic time in Rome. We only had one day but he showed us all the important sights in Rome and was very enjoyable to be with. I have traveled before with private companies but I count this as truly one of the BEST! We had a terrific time and we all would highly recommend Marco of Rome Connection to show you the best time in Rome. In Greece we had a great tour also which was set up by Marco. When in Rome again we will definitely contact Marco maybe even for the Ferrari Tour! Hope to see you again Marco! Joe and Family
